Reconquer Engine

I'm happy to announce Reconquer Engine! Reconquer Engine includes all game assets and game logic code, minus some of the productionization.
You can use it to make similar games under an Unreal Engine-style license that is free for non-commercial and small commercial uses. You can also use it as a basis for contributing to Reconquer Online, or just play around with it and learn more about how these systems work.
Long term, I'd like to continue improving the tooling, adding things like a web editor and generative AI integration. I'd also like to work on a tutorial that will be posted on my Youtube Channel.
Game Mods

You can now use a custom "mod" file to change the game's models, animations, textures, music, and sound effects.

Also, wolves have a new seed drop and aggressive monsters can no longer be trapped by a barricade.
Grasslands Expansion

There is a small new area to the south with some new things. The thread chance from flax has increased and the accuracy of sand crabs has decreased. There have also been small graphical changes.
New Tick Speed and Herb Update

The tick speed has been reduced from 0.6 to 0.5 seconds. This should make the game feel a bit smoother. The music speed has increased to 120 beats per minute. There are plans for being able to travel two squares per tick in the future in certain areas.
In order to consume herbs now, you need to use them on a vial of water to make a brew.
"Nickel Bronze" items have been renamed to "Cupric".
Also, there is new music in the raid and some clipping has been fixed.
The next thing I'll be working on is building up the skill tree to as high as level 95 for each skill. I'd like to then start on the desert which I'm hoping will have content up to level 35 in about 3 months.
My long term goal is to add a "creator mode" that allows you to create your own maps, quests, monsters, and challenges. Therefore I want to prioritize finishing out the skilling tree and all new areas over adding too many new mechanics or new side quests.
Moving to Beta

Thank you for alpha testing! All existing accounts have been given membership for 365 days. Members can now request custom names by clicking on the membership button.
Content (excluding fidelity) above level 20 will require a membership. None of that content currently exists, but likely will in the coming months.
Pack mules and items in player-controlled resource chests should begin to persist across updates.
The pine trees have been improved and a number of other graphical issues have been fixed.
